Restaurant Review - Jack Sprat
Wow, another restaurant that I've passed a zillion times and never tried. Jack Sprat is on Pico a few doors east of Westside Pavilion. Its cute, its healthy AND tastey. Like Nook, they're friendly to herbavores and carnivores. And it seems to have a thriving take out business as well...a good plan for last minute "home cooking."
Atmosphere was nice, not too small, not to big. Nicely lit so you don't feel like you have to be on a date or in a group. Waitstaff was very attentive and actually followed the special orders. Yeah, I was shocked too. Don't worry, they were all pretty enough to be struggling actors so I'm sure this is just to make a few bucks between gigs.
Food: The portions were large but not overwhelming (mmmmmmmmmm, leftovers) and they kept the Diet Coke flowing (definately a new favorite place). I rarely order chicken when I'm out 'cause 95% is just not good. But I was feeling lucky tonight and it was great. Not dry, not greasy. Steamed veggies were solid and I was stealing quite a few "air" fries which are my new favorite way to cook/eat french fries. So good.
I'm definately going back. Want to come along?
