Zagat

Despite my waif-like appearance, I know my restaurants...at least in and around Los Angeles. Don't know where to take your date, your mom for her birthday dinner, your friends for some cheap food, dying for real El Salvadorian, I'm your girl. So, I'll post the random restaurant requests on here. Just in case you have the same random questions but were afraid to ask. See, its a win-win for everyone.

Random Restaurant Request: So, I'm taking a friend to a celebration lunch in Claremont, where do I go.

My Answer: I have to check my book. (One good thing about not keeping my car in a perfect state of cleanliness, is that stuff (no, not food) stays in it, that should be in the house. This has been known to come in handy, like in this situation.) Walter's Restaurant. (http://www.waltersrestaurant.net/) It has seating inside & out, is very pretty, food is tastey & the service is good.

Side Note not given to the original asking party: Try the lamb burrito. It looks odd on the menu, but quite yummy.

The review: I heard today that all parties were pleased. It was pretty crowded so it was good that they had a reservation. (I went without one) And, because it was so crowded, it was a leisurely lunch. But, they enjoyed the atmosphere & the food so it was a nice lunch for all.

So, if you have any questions about where to eat, let me know. Again, L.A. area only. ;-)

dear anne

As promised, here's is today's question.

Today's Question: How much is our dollar compared to the Canadian dollar?

My answer: Ours is worth more. I think a $15 flu shot in Canada would cost you $12 U.S. dollars. My guess would be that we would pay $.80 for their dollar.

So, once again, I checked my answer...today's exchange rate: $.804375

I rule.

dear abby

At the office, I am random question girl. If you have a random question, ask Jenna. I can't tell you how this began or why people started asking me questions but I can tell you that I usually know the answer, which is a bit frightening in and of itself. Now as the questions come up, I'll share.

Today's Question: Why do you smell the cork?

My answer: To see if the wine went bad. But, people don't really smell the cork. The waiter should pour a bit of the wine into a glass for you so that you can smell if it went bad and really get a sense of the wine, its bouquet, etc...

So, I checked my answer. I was right. Damn I impress myself sometimes

Trick or Treat

Anyone else tired of the election? The press coverage? The Prop fill-in-the-number-here commercials? The spin? The polls? For the love of Pete, I am. I know who I'm voting for and I'm not telling. I'm not telling the Democrats, the Repulicans, the Independants, but I might tell my dogs. Why my dogs? Well, I think they're the only ones who won't praise or insult me for it. They'd just look at me and wonder if they're going to get a treat. And, to be perfectly honest, I think that's the appropriate reaction to that decision. Its really sad. I'm more worked up about NBC pulling the last episode of Last Comic Standing off the air than I am about the future of this country. And, that isn't to say that I don't care about our great nation, I'm just tired of the anger and arguments.

I think its time for a treat....
